What is a U-base protection?
Win U-base protection is a specially designed U-shaped profile mounted at the bottom of the construction – at the transition between the base and the facade cladding. It creates a physical barrier against mice, rats, insects and other small animals that might otherwise find their way behind the facade elements and cause damage in cavities, insulation or the structure.
At the same time, the profile is constructed with ventilation openings, allowing air to circulate freely behind the cladding. This ensures that moisture is carried away and that a healthy building environment is maintained without the risk of mould or moisture damage.
Why U-base protection is important
