Safety Drainage

Learn more about how JUAL's proven safety outlets products and documented drainage capacity can help you comply with the Danish National Board of Housing and Planning's guidelines on preventing damage and roof collapse in large halls and buildings and SBI instructions.

The benefits of safety drainage

With JUAL safety drainage products on the roof, your building complies with the new guidelines to prevent serious damage and roof collapses caused by accumulated water.

Our roof drains with back pressure seal rings are tested according to EN1253-2, and the safety drainage products are thoroughly tested at our own test centre. This means that we can document the drainage capacity and ensure an efficient and safe solution that meets the requirements for safety drainage in your building or renovation project.

Remember to consider safety drainage

Do you remember to install safety drainage? When you build, it's important that you, as a consulting engineer or architect, consider safety drainage to comply with the advice in the new guidelines.

It's worth mentioning that the first roof drain must be placed a maximum of 7.2 meters from the gable, while the next one must be a maximum of 14.4 meters away. As a general rule, you should establish one safety outlet for every two ordinary drains.

New building or renovation project?

If you're working on a new building, it's already described, how much the roof needs to drain. As one of the few manufacturers worldwide, we have documented knowledge of the drainage capacity that our various solutions can drain per second, and how many square meters each outlet can drain.

If you are working on a renovation project, you can, for example, retrofit parapet drainage outlets or increase the drainage capacity by adding a Ø90 bowl outlet to an existing Ø110 roof outlet. The operation is relatively simple, because you use the existing pipes.

Thoroughly tested at our own test center

At JUAL, we help you achieve your goals with a proven safety drainage system that meets the demands of today and tomorrow. Our roof outlets with overflow ring are approved according to the European standard EN1253-2, and through countless tests we can document the water capacity that our various products can drain per second.

The insight into the individual roof drains performance ensures, that you can dimension your safety drainage system with a capacity that meets the requirements of the new guidelines.

Worth knowing about emergency running

    .
  • An safety outlet works independently of the roof drains in the regular drainage system
  • The safety outlets ensures that the roof is not overloaded
  • The safety outlets ensures that water does not run over the flashings
  • Water from safety outlets is led directly to the open air and never to a sewer
  • Safety outlets can be internal drains or spouts, that are routed directly through the top of the wall
  • Water from safety outles must not be discharged onto a lower roof
  • Safety outles are placed close to the roof outlet itself
  • Safety outles are raised above the roof covering so that they are only in operation when there is water accumulation on the roof
