A necessity in modern construction

Safety drainage has become a key topic, especially in light of the latest guidelines from the National Board of Housing and Planning and the SBI-273 instruction. These guidelines emphasize safety drainage as essential in both new construction and major renovation projects.

The aim is to prevent damage and roof collapse in large halls and buildings where potential damage can have extensive financial consequences.

Remember to consider safety drainage

Do you remember to install safety drainage? When you build a new building, it's important that you as a consulting engineer or architect consider emergency drainage to comply with the advice in the new guidelines.

It's worth mentioning that the first roof drain must be placed a maximum of 7.2 meters from the gable, while the next one must be a maximum of 14.4 meters away. As a general rule, you should establish one safety drain for every two ordinary drains.

Parapet drainage with 90° bend and piping

Specially suitable for safety drainage where drainage is to be integrated with a visible safety drainage system and outlet on the ground. Parapet drainage with 90° angle transition for installation with vertical piping must always be led to the open, but bends and pipes increase drainage capacity.

  • High dewatering capacity
  • No visible pipe hole in parapet
  • Applied with angle transition
  • Very low water retention
  • Drainage to the open at ground level

New build or renovation project?

If you're working on a new build, it's already described how much the roof needs to drain. As one of the few manufacturers worldwide, we have documented knowledge of the drainage capacity that our various solutions can drain per second and how many square meters each well can drain.

If you are working on a renovation project, you can, for example, retrofit a parapet drainage system or increase the drainage capacity by adding a Ø90 bowl outlet to an existing Ø110 roof outlet. The operation is relatively simple because you use the existing pipes.
